Hatchet 3: Hatchet 3 Horror Film is the third installment of the Hatchet film series. It follows the continuing adventures of Victor Crowley and his murderous rampage through Honey Island Swamp in Louisiana. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn portrays Deputy Winslow, Rileah vanderbilt portrays Misty.
The film's special effects are the film's biggest strengths. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows for some truly terrifying moments to be captured throughout the film.
The cast is solid and the lead actor Kane Hodder proving to be an intimidating villain. The dialogue is so funny and tongue-in cheek that it could be like a classic 1980s horror movie. Additionally, there are certain moments of genuine comedy throughout, which provide a comical contrast against all of the gut-wrenching action on screen.
Due to the budget being one million dollars, the majority of places were reused from previous films. The house on the lake that was used twice in (click articles) the movie was one example. A lot of the film appears to be a re-use from other movies in the franchise. It can seem like it's all too familiar especially for people who've watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2
Overall, I enjoyed Hatchet 3 even though it felt very similar to prior installments in the series. It also offered plenty of gory thrills and some entertaining performances by its cast members.
